It's no secret I've been watching a lot of Angel movies and programs recently. I've got one more to tell you about, and then I promise I'll switch to some other streaming service or topic. At least for a little while.
This one is called The Parable. Now growing up in the South, and subsequently being part of a family that attended church at least semi-regularly, I learned early that parables were stories with deeper meanings--usually associated with stories told by Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible. So, I automatically expected the unexpected when I saw the title of this movie. Let's set the scene.
Imagine an Escape Room. I'll be honest, I haven't "done" an Escape Room--yet--but they appeal to me because I love mysteries and puzzles. Anyway, imagine you are the unwitting, and perhaps, unwilling participant in the ultimate Escape Room. That will help you to set the scene for The Parable.
Six complete strangers wake up in a locked apartment. They soon discover a 7th person who is only there to explain why they are in this place and why they can't leave. Once her explanations are finished she leaves them to answer a series of questions and examine their lives in an attempt to escape the apartment. If they are successful, they will escape with their lives. If not, they will make the ultimate sacrifice and die.
As they answer the questions presented to them they begin to find the keys to unlock the mysteries in their own lives. Watch The Parable to discover what secrets each person holds and who will make it out of the apartment alive.
